THINGS UNDER THE BAN AND TITHES, Leviticus 27:28-34. Leviticus receives its name from the Septuagint (the pre-Christian Greek translation of the OT) and means "relating to the Levites." This book begins with the laws concerning sacrifices; the most ancient were the burnt-offerings, about which God here gives Moses directions.
